What types of questions are offered?
- Multiple Choice - True/False - Short Answer - Quizzes - Space Race - Exit Ticket The quizzes offer many different options such as teacher paced, multiple tries, instant feedback, and shuffled questions. They all offer real time results which could help teachers see who may need help or further instruction. The results are saved as reports. There is a maximum of 500 questions in a quiz and each question can have up to 65,000 characters. How many students can simultaneously use the tool? In Socrative the free version there can be up to 50 students in a room taking a quiz at one time. In Socrative Pro 150 students can simultaneously us the tool in one room. What type of feedback do the students receive? The tool shows the students the correct answer after answering the question. The teacher can also add in feedback that explains why the correct answer is correct. How is data collected? Data is collected in real time and teachers can see the results on their screen as the students are working through the questions. The results is then transferred into a report under the reports tab after the quiz is closed. Is the tool easy to setup and manage? The quizzes are easy to make and can be used for multiple activities once made. Quizzes can be used in space race, quiz mode, or exit ticket. The free version could have potential issues with the room being public and students not having IDs to login. Overall the tool is easy to navigate for both teachers and students. Does the tool allow students to be assessed as a group? The tool had a feature that allows students to work together in groups to answer the questions. The feature is called Space Race and the students compete to "reach" space first by answering the questions correctly. This feature can also be completed individually. The quizzes can also be setup to be teacher paced so that the quiz can be completed as a whole group. |
Differences:
There are a lot of features you can only use with the Socrative Pro and are not available on the free version. Some Socrative Pro features being: -Question weight. -Customize reports. -Add math equations to questions. -Include images in answers and explanations. -20 private or public rooms. -Restricted room access via student IDs. -Share reports. -Merge Quizzes. One of the main features that I find beneficial on Socrative Pro that is not available in the free version is private rooms. The free version does not offer rooms that can only be accessed by student ID. This could cause confusion and incorrect data if students input their names incorrectly before taking a quiz. |
