EPIC! is a website and app that can be used on both computers and mobile devices. EPIC! has a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction books for children under 12.
How will I, as the teacher, be using EPIC! to support literacy instruction?
The EPIC! website and app offers so many great age appropriate books. This allows the students in my class to select from a variety of book options. EPIC! also generates book suggestions to the students based on their preferences and reading levels. The website and app allows for me to keep track of my students reading as well as their reading comprehension. EPIC! is a great resource to use at school and at home which gives students access to many different books. EPIC! encourages self-directed discovery that aligns with STEAM content and builds vocabulary. EPIC! also helps in literacy centers, independent reading, research projects, and even with English language learners.
EPIC! allows me to assign readings to the students and the students will receive them in their EPIC! mailbox as you can see above. The student will see all the books I have assigned and can easily click on the book and begin reading. I will get an alert when the book is finished.

EPIC! also has a free account that allows your child to access books through the website and app with an additional 2 hours of reading per week. EPIC! is a fun and motivational way to encourage reading, language development, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. EPIC! can also be used offline so your child can read and learn whenever they want.
How can EPIC! help you the parent help me the teacher better understand your child?
EPIC! can create customized books based on student interests and reading levels . It also provides extra support like Read-to-me and Dictionary lookup. This can not only help us with the reading level of your student but also the interests of your student.
How can EPIC! help you the parent better understand your child's academic learning process?
EPIC! Allows parents to create their own account and have access to the books their children have read. When the school year is over parents can create their own free account that allows their child two hours of reading a week. You can also have unlimited access to books, videos, and read aloud when you subscribe to EPIC! with a small fee.
How might I grow as a professional educator as a result of using a tool like EPIC! in my classroom?
EPIC! can help me enhance my lessons as well as literacy groups. It will help me have additional resources such as many different books, read aloud, and educational videos available for my students.
